Livengood - Guy Virgil

Waynetown - Guy Virgil Livengood, 81, prominent retired farmer and former Wayne Township trustee and member of the Montgomery County Selective Service board died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday July 28, 1956, at his home, three and one half miles southwest of Waynetown. He had suffered three strokes during the week before his death. He was born April 18, 1875 on the farm in Wayne Township where he died. He was a son of Thomas I. and Mary Young Livengood. Mr. Livengood was married in 1894 to Minnie Wilkinson. They reared a nephew Harold Suydam now of Dayton, Ohio. She died in 1952. Mr. Livengood was married Nov 13, 1954 to Margaret Ratcliff Davis, Waynetown.
He was a member of the Ingersol Christian Church until it ws disbanded in 1945. Then he became a member of the Waynetown Christian Church. Mrs. Livengood belonged to Masonic Lodge No 302 of Waynetown and was a past member of the Waynetown Chapter OES of which he was a pst Worthy Patron. He belonged, also to the Waynetown IOOF Lodge in which he had received his 50-year-pin. He was a member of this lodge 53 years and a past grandmaster. For a number of years, Mr. Livengood was a Justice of the Peace. He served three, four year terms trustee of Wayne Township and for 8 1/2 years was a member of the Selective Service board of Montgomery County. He retired from active farming 14 years ago
Surviving are the wife, three stepdaughters, Mrs. Virginia Long of Peru; Mrs. Freida Cochran of Monterey, Calif; Mrs. Ruth Trump of Key West, Fla three stepgrandchildren and one sister Mrs. Zoa Parker of Crawfordsville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Servies Funeral Home, Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Organ music was by Mrs. MB Snyder who played Beyond the SUnset; Goodnight and Good Morning and selected hymns. The pallk bearers were Alvin-Long, Bob Cochran, Dale Trump, Harold Suydam, Virgil WIlkinson and Charles Wilkinson. Flowers were carried by Lova Suydam, Lois Martin, Virginia Long, Freida Cochran, Ruth Trump, Lottie Cecil, Lola Burks, Nine Wilkinson and Mary Olsen. The burial was made in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
